Alaskan Air Command photograph collection, 1927-1970s.

The Alaskan Air Command Photograph Collection consists of 99 Air Force related photographs taken in Alaska. Subjects include Ladd Field scenes, USO troupe shows, Shemya scenes, visiting dignitaries, Lend-Lease activities, Japanese and American military personnel, aircraft and rescue operations. Also found in the collection is a photograph album titled "Operations 'Rainbow' and 'Fish for Kids'," dated February 1956. It documents the efforts of the Alaska Air Command Wildlife Conservation Office, Elmendorf Air Force Base, to stock Lake Louise, Green Lake, Gregory Lake, and Six Mile Creek with rainbow trout.
